Superstar Athlete Chooses SUP!

Year of birth: 1999

Born: Deep Cove, British Columbia, Canada

Lives: Victoria, British Columbia, Canada

Discipline: SUP racing, SUP surfing

Evan grew up in Deep Cove, BC and has been paddling since he was 13.

He discovered SUP though a kid’s SUP camp in Deep Cove and after a few days of camp he was invited by his coach to try racing that night. He later joined the Deep Cove Advanced Race Team (DART) Junior SUP team and has been racing with them ever since. After some great summers racing with DART, he has stayed with the team as an assistant coach. He really enjoys coaching this team and helping to develop the next generation of paddlers and see so many new kids get stoked on the water.

Every year Evan is getting faster and in June 2017 this culminated with him winning the Technical Race at the Canadian Nationals in Tofino BC and qualifying for Team Canada.

Due to school scheduling conflicts, he unfortunately was unable to attend, but hopes to requalify and attend future ISA events. In 2017 he finished in 5th place in the BC SUP Cup overall standings and got an impressive 3rd place in the U-18 division at the Columbia Gorge Paddle Challenge. In 2018 he had huge successes at the CSA SUP Nationals, and at Board the Fjord.
