Evan has played multiple sports from ice hockey, to cross country running, to soccer. He started to focus on SUP racing in late high school and continues to combine school and SUP as he is now a full-time student at the University of Victoria, studying physical geography.

Evan grew up in Deep Cove, BC and has been paddling since he was 13.

He discovered SUP though a kid’s SUP camp in Deep Cove and after a few days of camp he was invited by his coach to try racing that night. He later joined the Deep Cove Advanced Race Team (DART) Junior SUP team and has been racing with them ever since. After some great summers racing with DART, he has stayed with the team as an assistant coach. He really enjoys coaching this team and helping to develop the next generation of paddlers and see so many new kids get stoked on the water.

The res of the year when he is not competing in SUP racing, Evan is studying at the University of Victoria to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Geography focusing on geomatics. He is going into his fourth year this fall.

Achievements
  • 2019: Canadian Nationals 2nd overall (2nd in tech race and 4th in distance). Columbia Gorge Paddle Challenge - 21st overall Elite Men and top Canadian. Kalamalka Classic - 2nd tech race and 3rd in distance. BC SUP Cup - 3rd overall.
  • 2018: Canadian Downwind U23 Champion. Columbia Gorge Paddle Challenge Downwind Open Men Champion. Tofino SUP Championships - 2nd tech race. Canadian Nationals - 4th overall. BC SUP Cup 3rd Overall. SUP Racer World Rankings - 97th.
  • 2017: Canadian Nationals - 1st overall. Victoria SUP Challenge - 2nd. BC SUP Cup - 5th.
