In recognition of the collaboration with Greg Wingo and his ROAM Projects, Blackfish Paddles present the ROAM Edition of their best-selling Andaman.
Blackfish Paddles and ROAM Projects, Greg Wingo’s outdoor venture whose portfolio of adventures includes the iconic Last Paddler Standing and Alabama 650 races, have officially announced a partnership with Blackfish recognised as the official paddle partner of the events.
Born from a shared commitment to advancing the sport of endurance paddling, supporting athletes, and bringing long-distance races to a global audience, this collaboration has chosen a paddle proven in the toughest conditions — including the legendary 10,000 km circumnavigation of the UK coastline.
Peter Allen, Sales Director at Blackfish Paddles & ultra-endurance paddler said: “We are excited to launch the Andaman ROAM Edition and bring our partnership with Greg and ROAM Projects to life. The Andaman was the natural choice for this collaboration — it’s our most versatile paddle, trusted by everyone from recreational paddlers to world champions. We can’t wait to see the ROAM Edition in action at endurance events around the world."
Greg Wingo, Founder of ROAM Projects, said: “The Andaman is synonymous with endurance paddling. It's meant to be the perfect all-around long distance paddle and that aligns perfectly with the races that I create. I can't think of a collaboration that makes more sense than this one!”
The Blackfish Andaman is a quick and solid paddle with square shoulders for added power during the catch phase. The blade shape is a hybrid between the tear drop and high aspect designs. The Andaman captures the benefits of both designs and is both lightweight and durable. This paddle “eats up” long training sessions and is the trusted choice for ROAM Projects expeditions and ultra-endurance events like the Alabama 650 and Last Paddler Standing.
Greg added: “I love it! It pulls rather effortlessly through the water which is important when you're paddling long distances, whether it's an endurance race or a long paddling adventure. It puts less stress on your body, allowing the paddler to achieve a greater distance and racing success!”
