Crozon completes the Blackfish high-performance range with a versatile, user-friendly design

The newly launched Crozon is the latest addition to Blackfish’s streamlined, performance-focused paddle range.

Named after the Crozon Peninsula in Brittany, France, the paddle draws inspiration from one of Europe’s most dynamic paddling destinations. Located within the Armorican National Park, the Crozon Peninsula is the local playground of Blackfish Team riders Boris JinvresseAnaïs Guyomarc'h, and Ethan Bry. From exploring the coastline to surfing North Atlantic swells or flying downwind on foil, it opens up numerous paddling experiences.

Based on the proven Salish, the Crozon features a rounded outline and a more prominent dihedral on the power face. The result is a versatile blade that feels stable in the water, delivers an efficient catch, and releases cleanly. Easy to paddle yet performance driven, the Crozon is designed to perform across a wide range of conditions and SUP disciplines.

Peter Allen, Sales Director at Blackfish Paddles & ultra-endurance paddler, said:

“With the addition of the Noumea and Yukon paddles in 2025 we felt there were now too many options in the line-up and we wanted to simplify things.

The Nootka, Andaman and Salish were also some of the original Blackfish designs and it felt like the right time to refresh and update these paddles. Looking at who was using these three models and how they were being used, there was significant overlap in performance and end use.

The idea emerged to replace all three with a single model, offered in a range of blade sizes and layup options, making the choice clearer and simpler for paddlers.

The goal was to create a paddle that delivered a clear upgrade in performance compared to the Nootka, Salish, and Andaman, while remaining very user friendly and versatile.

Closest in design to the Salish, the new blade features a rounder profile and a more prominent dihedral. The result has exceeded expectations - delivering exactly the balance of performance and usability that was intended.”

Crozon is available in a range of blade sizes, constructions, and shaft options, providing a user-friendly paddle that works for paddlers across all disciplines and experience levels:

Crozon UD Carbon is the best price-point option and an optimized choice for new paddlers or those looking for strong value. It replaces the Nootka UD and Fishskin, offering a lightweight, forgiving feel while remaining durable and easy to use. The UD Carbon is available in a 460 blade with a skinny 2-piece shaft, and in 500 and 540 blade sizes with regular 2-piece and 3-piece shaft options.

Crozon Full Carbon is the most versatile performance paddle in the lineup and a clear upgrade over the Salish and Andaman. Increased dihedral provides a more stable catch and improved efficiency, making it a true do-it-all paddle. Blade sizes include 460 (available in skinny 1-piece or 2-piece), and 500 and 540 (available in 1-piece, 2-piece, and 3-piece shaft options). A wide range of blade and shaft combinations ensures an ideal fit for paddlers of all shapes and sizes while remaining very user friendly.

Crozon Kevlar is purpose-built for SUP surf and SUP foil use, designed to withstand the dynamic environment of surfing and foiling. A reinforced shaft combined with a durable Kevlar blade offers added strength where it’s needed most. The Crozon Kevlar is available in 500 and 580 blade sizes, both in 1-piece and 2-piece configurations.
