The winner of the Blackfish Paddles x ROAM Giveaway has been announced: Stephanie Wolfe from Illinois, USA.
Paddleboarding has always been about more than results and race times - it’s about the people, the adventures and the experiences that keep us coming back to the water.
That mindset was behind the recent giveaway from Blackfish Paddles and ROAM Projects, part of an ongoing partnership with the outdoor venture led by Greg Wingo, known for iconic events such as Last Paddler Standing and the Great Alabama 650.
Built on a shared commitment to advancing paddle sports, supporting athletes and bringing unique events to a global audience, the partnership continues to strengthen connections across the paddling community.
To celebrate the collaboration and give back to paddlers, Blackfish and ROAM offered a Limited Edition Andaman Paddle - a full-carbon, fixed-length version of one of Blackfish’s most trusted designs, combining lightweight performance with lasting durability.
The giveaway attracted strong interest from across the paddling world, and the winner has now been announced as Stephanie Wolfe from Illinois, USA. Congratulations to Stephanie, who has already been united with her Limited Edition Andaman Paddle and is ready to put it to good use on the water.
We caught up with Stephanie to learn more about her paddling journey, her reaction to winning the ROAM x Blackfish giveaway, and what's next on the water.
Hi Stephanie! Congrats on winning the giveaway! How did your paddleboarding journey begin, and what was it about SUP that hooked you from the start?
I originally started when a friend asked me to do a kayak race with her on the Missouri River back in 2022. I was hooked on racing from then on. I have raced and worked as ground crew at many events since. Then my husband wanted to get a paddleboard for the lake we go to every weekend during the summer, so I started paddleboarding alongside kayaking.
You recently won a ROAM x Blackfish Paddles giveaway. What was your reaction when you found out, and what does the prize mean to you?
I was so excited. I just couldn't believe that I won. I feel so blessed to be able to start using it.
With a new paddle in hand and the season ahead, how are you planning to elevate your game? Do you have any SUP goals, races, adventures, or challenges lined up?
I had knee surgery a few weeks back, so I’ll be starting out slowly this year, practising on the lake while getting used to the balance on the paddleboard as I heal. Once I’m feeling better, I hope to enter a short race and then see where it goes from there.
